How did our first ‘Collection’ came to life

Hey there if you have landed up here it means that you are very much curious about what goes behind the scenes when us designers create a collection.

So here in short we will take you through a rough outline on how we approach things regarding designing a collection.

These are the initial stages of a design process regarding any collection be it a garnet collection, accessory collection, etc.

Firstly, be it any designer we would find an inspiration which would call to us we would sketch it around a bit and research about it, after we are satisfied we would start exploring the shape and structures, while also keeping in mind the seasons and trends for the coming seasons.

We would make different types of visual boards to make it easier for us to go back to what we had initially been drawn to and be true to it! Here as an example is the ‘Inspiration & Colour Board’ for our Wave VO Collection

While sketching and explorations are going on we also look at different materials which would work for the collection and the availability for it.

While collections are usually made in odd numbers so for example a collection of 3 articles would be considered a mini collection and as the number grows more so does the number of articles and the pressure! The process of selecting a number goes on simultaneously while other processes are going on.

After the sketches, designs and materials are finalized we go to the stage of prototyping where, with the help of our craftsmens we develop the mocks of a product from a foam material known as ‘Eva Sheet’ which acts a replacement for the actual material, this is a hit and trial process in checking if a design would look good or not in real life.

After we have finalized the mocks, the real magic begins of getting the samples of each product made which would lead to getting photo shoots done for you guys!

So here was a little sneak peek into our world of design and how we create magic. Hope you liked it, see you around for more!
